This is an extension to the rear of an existing period house in Ranelagh, Dublin. Our strategy was to ensure that the new extension did not damage the light quality in the existing spaces behind. The form is a result of that strategy. It is three stories. Its size reduces as it rises to avoid existing windows and to create rooflights. It contains a kitchen and utility on the ground floor, an office on the first and a bathroom on the second.
