This project is a new build house on a forested site. The site has a southerly aspect and overlooks Lough Corrib. The brief was to build a home that made the most of the orientation and the wonderful views. The use of natural light is integral to the project. The southerly face of the house is very open. Small windows are made through the north walls. Clerestory windows allow light in from above. Solar gain and thermal mass are maximised.
