This is a refurbishment and extension of a Georgian house in Rathgar. The house has three storeys and has beautiful reception rooms on its upper levels. The brief was to restore the house and transform the low and dark garden level. Our solution was to lower the floor of garden level by one meter. An open plan split level eating and living space was created. This space extends and opens onto a terrace with steps to the garden. The low and dark garden level is now tall and flooded with light. The remainder of the house was refurbished simply.
