This project is a restoration of the facades of numbers 9-15 O'Connell Street, a protected structure. The brief was to remove inappropriate detailing and upgrade thermal performance while restoring the overall facades. Non original aluminium windows were removed and replaced with more appropriate sliding sash fenestration. Decayed flashings were replaced, granite stonework was repaired and re-pointed and the facades were cleaned. The challenge was to carry out this work quickly and safely in a busy city centre location.
