This is an extension and restoration of the Shirley Arms Hotel. The brief was to upgrade the hotel to achieve a four star rating. A 2000 square meter four storey extension was built to the rear of the original hotel. This accommodates function rooms, restaurants, kitchens and 30 bedrooms. A tall glazed atrium space separates the new from the existing structure and forms the central circulation hub within the hotel. The open stair, balconies and bridges provide the user with a variety of views and experiences as they move through the space.
