Aughey O'Flaherty Architects at Open House

We were delighted to participate in Open House.

Our last blog post introduced you to our latest Low Energy Home and explained the principles used in the design process. Key to this design was the client’s requirement for his new house to be energy efficient, cheap to run and to make the best of his site.

As a result, this home has a strong focus on light, energy efficiency, craft and comfort.

Last week end, we were glad to open this house for public viewing, as part of the Open House.  Open House Dublin is Ireland’s biggest architecture festival, allowing visitors to explore the architecture of the city and buildings which may otherwise be closed for the public.

We were very glad to have received a considerably large public attention, for which we are certainly thankful. As we hosted our visitors, we offered each group a walk through the house, while explaining the steps of the design.
